I grew up loving jelly babies. I am now 77. Many shops sell their own brand j-bs which fall far short of the real thing. Only currently shopping at Aldi and Lidl I had been unable to get nice ones. But because I am an old buffer I bought these Barratts j-bs mistakenly, instead of what I really wanted which was Bassetts(Maynard) j-bs. A big bag arrived and me, my wife and son had a few each. To be honest they are acceptable. Side by side with Bassett's, they have a little harder outer surface, slightly less of a jelly consistency and dissolve in a lumpier fashion, but maybe only nuts like me would notice. The Barratt flavours are OK, not artificial. The Bassett flavours have the advantage of being what I grew up with and I prefer them; but only slightly. A neutral might choose the opposite way. All in all a happy purchase.Read full review

I have an ill husband who loves Jelly babies and I have bought them before with great success but this time they were stuck together in lumps and although they are still being eaten I am really disappointed . They as usual have given pleasure however. CB

Love them, the flavours of them are good, although I’m not sure about the hard crusty coating. I will order again in the near future, they are very good value.

Honestly, not as genuinely fruit-tasting as Kingsway brand but really good for the price. If cost is an issue, you could not ask for more

if they got rid of the orange 1s and the almost orange 1s these jelly babies would be perfect. do you think they would take custom orders.. choose your flavours and colours, how cool would that be.
