I bought this album from Katie because it promised to be more her own creation than her first 3 more 'poppy' albums. I was not disappointed, the songs are magnificent in scale and concept, you can feel Katie's Georgian roots entwined inside the music. Melodies are very strong, compelling repeated listening and on a good stereo, the first play, especially the opening 2 tracks, was absolutely mind-blowing. Katie shows a new maturity with her singing on this album, she seems freed up to be herself, expressing what is important to her in life. There is a sense of deep spirituality throughout and the accompanying musicianship is first class. The production is deep, clear and enthralling, the collaboration with William Orbit completing his renaissance. If you want to get close to the real Katie Melua, you MUST hear this record, I consider it to truly be her masterpiece. Read full review

A surprisingly pleasant CD, considering Katie Melua has ventured into the "electronic music" domain. "The Flood", "A moment of madness", "Tiny alien" and "A happy place" are our favourites. This CD brings the best of her voice with a new slant. Worth a listen.
I bought this cd because I love the previous album. Have to say I am a bit dissapointed, there are as usual brilliant tracks, the lady writes and performs amazing stuff. But I feel a bit cheated as some tracks lack her normal quality and seem to be there just to fill the space. Still love your style Katie
Great album as expected As good if not better than previous albums
