Namiki Migrating 3D  Crane Urushi Lacquer Fountain Pen

l  Crane Couple

18Kt FINE Fountain Pen

This time I have uploaded the pilots most recommended maki-e design fountain pen. Pilot has made this design of the makie as the model. If you see the Pilot Catalogue anytime then you can see that at the top page of the makie this pen design is shown. And now I will explain you about the design and history of the pen so that you can imagine about the pen.

This is pilots very expensive Hira makie design. This is a handmade design and takes a long time to make this design. Because if you see the picture of the design you will see that the feather of the crane is so natural and gorgeous. Because the maker has given a lot of effort and time to make this design. And the most important and attractive thing is that during drawing the cranes had to be so careful. Because if there is a single and a very little mistake then the famous Pilot company does not sell this. And also at the same time as it is a large design it is realizable that there is a mistake. So the maker expands a lot of time. About the makie it has written bellow.

What makes this pen truly special is the rare signature: Sei Katsuda. he was born in 1920, graduated from Tokyo Art University in 1939 and entered Pilot in 1953. His father was a legendary maki-e artist

The Crane - Bird of Peace

*Love to each other of crane's couple is very strong.
Crane's couple is a symbol of love in Japan for a long time.

A couple of crane carries good luck for you*

Migratory Birds, Connecting Peoples and Countries"

Crane (tsuru) is considered auspicious in Japan, as one of the symbols of longevity and represented with other symbols of long life, the pine and bamboo, and the tortoise. In feudal Japan the crane was protected by the ruling classes and fed by the peasants.

Brand new, never used, 100% authentic.

About Pilot

Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of Namiki Manufacturing Co., Ltd., in 1918, was an alumni and professor of Tokyo Nautical School.  He successfully invented a gold writing tip for fountain pens. Namiki’s success owed to the
collaboration from his friend and classmate Masao Wada. In 1938, Namiki Manufacturing Co., Ltd was changed to the Pilot Pen Co., Ltd., as the company grew. Pilot Corporation, the historical parent company of the PILOT group has headquarter in Kyobashi in Tokyo. Khobashi is one of the famous and prestigious districts of capital Tokyo.

"Zen and the Art of Pen Making." As the oldest and largest manufacturer of writing instruments in Japan, Pilot maintains a Zen-like philosophy. It is symbolized by an ancient bronze vessel which stands on three legs. One leg represents people who make Pilot products. The second leg represents those who sell the products, and the third leg stands for those who use them. Just as the three legs are essential to support the vessel, so are the three groups essential to each other's success.

The consistent high quality of Pilot products results from Pilot's control over all aspects of production. Obsessive craftspeople at heart, they design and manufacture their own dies, molds and machine tools to ensure that every Pilot performs perfectly. Out side the Japan, Pilot Company has their branches or franchises in 40 countries in Europe, USA, Brazil, Taiwan and Singapore. Pilot pen is famous all over the world and people consider Pilot pen as a good collection.

  Japanese Urushi Art.

Urushi (Japanese lacquer) art is unique to Japan, China, Korea and the countries of Southeast Asia, each country preserving to the present day its own particular traditions. Japanese urushi art is especially rich in terms both of variety and sophistication of technique. In addition to the highly developed skills that Japanese craftsmen have used to elevate urushi art to the heights for which it is renowned, Japan is blessed with an abundance of trees producing high quality hard urushi as well as a variety of timbers suitable for the making of the bodies of urushi wares.

About Maki-e:

Maki-e is an ancient Japanese art that combines intricate lacquer painting with a variety of surface decorations. These traditionally include powered gold and other precious metals, gemstones, mother of pearl or abalone shell.

This 1200-year-old art form was created to embody the harmony of man with nature.  Platinum Maki-e instruments are exclusively designed by commissioned Japanese artisans utilizing the rich Maki-e heritage of Japan’s Kaga region.
