Had this camera a few weeks now, it's an excellent SLR for the money. Has to be the BEST budget SLR around, or one of the best. 24.2mp is a huge jump from my old 7mp bridge camera and it's so easy to use and set up. Photo and video quality are both amazing and buying a lens adapter makes this camera even better combined with the old lenses I was given. Even the standard lens kit that comes with the camera is pretty good, although not up to much on zoom. But for basic photography or close ups, the standard lens is good enough. The camera itself is nice and light, and changing lenses is a breeze. I really can't think of any negatives for this camera, it's perfect for me and very simple, which is what I wanted. Price wise it's very cheap for an SLR, of course more expensive SLR cameras tend to be better, but for an SLR on a budget, I recommend a Nikon D3200 any day.Read full review
Purchased for use in selling items on Ebay, mainly, where good quality pictures are essential, especially if you want to enlarge them. I went for a kit of Camera, 2x converters, filters, Macro adaptor, Tripod, case etc. That was my choice, but it may not suit everyone. I also purchased the Book, Nikon D3200 for dummies. I was once into photography in a big way, but that was in the days of 35mm film, and about 40 years back. Things have progressed beyond belief, this Camera is better than excellent. The Red one is very light, very easy to handle, and nearly idiot proof, even popping the flash up to illuminate if the exposure will be too dark. I like almost everything about it, the one area I do have problems with is me, my memory, old age has taken over, so finding exactly what I want in the onboard menu can be troublesome, unless you use it everyday. Photocopy the main list from the Dummies guide and keep it in your Camera case. I did not bother to compare to other brands as I always wanted a Nikon from years ago. All cameras have features most of them you will never need, and most likely could not imagine a situation where you would need them. The Nikon has way more capabilities than I will ever use, the images are pin sharp as expected from 24.2mp high resolution camera's and the Nikon VR lens (Vibration Reduction) stops the dreaded shake that seems to have crept into my recent attempts at taking photos.Read full review
Bought to replace old camera. Set to auto, point and press with very good results. A few too many switches and buttons, will take a while to learn what they all do. Nice view screen to see photo's, with easy zoom to check the images.
Bought for my wife at Christmas, she loves it. Ideal camera for the beginner as well as the more experienced, the novice can start off with Auto and get perfect pictures then as you improve as a photographer and learn more about your camera and how to use that's when the camera comes into its own. would highly recommend this camera.
A very versatile camera that is very intuitive to use. Great value for money, I have always wanted a great camera like this and finally have one. I can't fault this camera it is light enough to carry anywhere you go- which is very handy. The picture quality is exceptional. The Nikon D3200 is a great camera for beginners.
