This stuff is easy to apply and makes Goretex gear totally waterproof again. The waterproofing doesn't last anywhere near as long as manufacturer applied DWR products so it could be better. Quite expensive too. Years ago I read that Thompsons Waterseal was the way to go. I compared manufacturer data sheets and it was exactly the same product as some Nikwax fabric and leather proofer I had bought. Waterseal has served me very well with numerous items including tents, stuff bags, jackets, boots etc. I couldn't find the data sheets for comparison this time but should have just continued with Waterseal really. Mega value at about £12 per 5L. So, this Nikwax is good stuff, just not very economical.

Pre washed my Berg Goretex jacket as per instruction with a pre wash treatment, applied Nikwax TR to wet jacket on first attempt and hung dried and then put near radiator, first use in medium rain parts still let water through re applied to these parts went out still let water through. 3rd Attempt applied another dose front back and top...good seeing to went out in medium rain again water beaded off a bit but eventually got through and made the jacket feel cold and damp, counter productive to say least! Too much effort for productivity that no matter how hard you try you will not get complete even coverage! Used 500 ml in total and it only recommended 250ml per jacket! Prolongs the agony until theres a better product!

Exactly as advertised, I sprayed several waterproof jackets, trousers and tops (4 garments) including a goretex one. They all were noticeably more slippy afterwards and first use in rain had the water droplets running off rather than soaking in. I haven't tried it in a downpour yet and I am sure it will rub off with use but the 500ml still has 30% left to top up when needed.

I bought the Nikwax washing liquid for gore-tex ,I then bought the Nikwax TX Direct spray, so easy to use, my goretex jackets are like new . Saved me a shed load of money on buying a new jacket. Nikwax TX Direct spray a brilliant product.

Washed ski jacket with woolite, then an old sealer I still had from years ago, which worked only partially. Then sprayed with this and rubbed in any excess. Hung on bathroom radiator for couple of days, then ran under tap. Water shed off completely, literally like water off a ducks' back. Excellent! Bit of a smell at first but completely gone after a few days..
