Over 15 years after the original release of the Gameboy Advance SP, these devices are still high in demand. From collectors to casual players, many people still know and love the SP as one of their first in the Nintendo range of products. With a front-lit AGS-001 screen, the SP is much easier to play in lower light conditions than its predecessors, though not as good as the 101 with its superior, backlit, screen. While the casing on these things does start to look tired after over a decade of use, there are plenty of options for replacement shells, or you can simply give them a careful wash with mild soap and a cloth. The battery in my SP is still functioning well, giving countless hours of playtime on a single charge. If this is not the case, replacement batteries can still be purchased and no special tools are needed to get into the battery compartment. Games ranging from the original gameboy, gameboy colour, and even the gameboy advance range can be played on these without issue. The audio and screen quality are both still to a good standard, and the third party devices still can’t compare to one of these original beauties in terms of quality or price.Read full review

I bought this one for my son. I like this because was cheap. I think my son play this Nintendo some month Product is okey, work without problem. This is good game for boys.
If you own many gameboy and gameboy colour games but no longer wish to play them on your old gameboy colour, eating up AA batteries and having to shine the thing into a source of light to see what you are doing! The Gameboy Advance SP is the answer. It comes with a re-chargeable battery so no more AA batteries. The screen will be scratch free thanks to the 'flip flop' design. And, it has a front light built in, so you can see you games much more clearly. IMPORTANT: There are two models of the device. The AGS-001 is the first model and has just one brightness setting for the lit screen (front lit). Then there's the quite rare AGS-101 model which quietly was released in 2005/6 in the shadow of the Gameboy Micro. This second model features a Backlit screen, allowing for 3 brightness settings. It look identical to the first model. The only way to distinguish them is the colour/special editions. There are some tribal, yellow pikachu, surf or pearl blue, pearl pink, graphite, to name a few. If unsure just ask seller to look at back of the SP! Hope this helps!Read full review
