I’m slowly reading my way through all the post-Fleming Bond books in chronological order and this is by far the best one from JG. It’s an exciting read with all the elements that most Bond fans would enjoy. It just, well, FEELS more Bondesque than his previous attempts. The author has steered clear of much of the gadgetry of his previous offerings and so the story doesn’t isn’t such a dated period piece as the preceding instalments, even though it’s over 30 years since it was written.
