Simple to use yet does everthying i need to do. Nokia have made a greatr phone. Always used android or apple now have been converted to windows by its ease of use. It does not have the same number of apps as apple or android to date i have not experienced any that i did not want.
I can not believe I bought a contract Nokia 830 when I could have bought a second had 1020 for less! Sure, the 830 is a good phone, but the 1020 is smaller (something I was looking for), and of course it has this amazing camera. As I already had a Microsoft account, the moment I connected the 1020 to my WiFi, the phone automatically loaded all the data, contacts, settings etc that had been on my 830. It was all sorted within a few minutes. The only thing missing was the Lumina software for the camera and the Here Maps. The maps took a few minutes. Thankfully, I knew the camera was capable of more than I was getting from it, so went looking for the Lumia software (Its an odd modern quirk that software is sometimes talked about as if it were hardware. This could confuse you if you are new to Nokia/Microsoft phones because they call the software a "camera"?) Anyway, once you understand what is going on, things get really interesting with the camera taking two photos at once. One at 5MP for emailing etc, and one at 39MP for post shoot editing, zooming, focusing etc. The huge storage (mine is 32GB but 64GB is more common) allows you to store both the small and large images for many photos despite the lack of external plug in storage (BTW, my Nokia 830 only had 15GB in built storage). The 1020 really comes into its own when shooting in low light as it uses something called "over sampling" to allow it to capture great shots even in dimly lit night time venues etc. Unlike ordinary PC type Microsoft operating systems, I think the Microsoft phones are truly user friendly. They work out of the box, never hang up, and give you a sense of aesthetic feel that almost matches that of a push button phone. The manufacture date of my second hand 1020 showed it to be just 14 months old, and yet it cost my only £100. What a bargain! Five stars for sure!Read full review
