The bigest attraction to the nokia N97 mini is its sleek, stylish looks. While it looks thicker than most phones, its surprisingly thin and incredibly comfortable to hold. Its not very heavy, but its not feather weight like some of the newer phones tend to be, but thats what i liked, as i like to feel my phone on me, so i dont forget it. Alas, the looks are just a fraction of why we buy a phone. I owned the N95 8gb and chose to upgrade to the N97 as it seemed like a logical step towards buying a newer smart phone. However, what i got wasn't an N97. It was an N95 inside a new case. What i mean by this, is when i started to see all the new features my new phone had, i was sadly disappointed. It had all the same features, in the same layout, the same menu options, the same logo's, literally EVERYTHING was the same. While the features are actually good, i just wanted something newer, nicer, faster...better. Its a newer phone so its a reasonable request. In some aspects i felt the N97 was a few steps back. For example, whilst browsing the internet, most phones have a quick way back to a previous page. Not with this. Its such a chore to get back to a previous page or to stop a page that was loaded in error. It requires you to use the touch screen when normally using the pad as there is no back button, which is a massive pain, and if the phone is feeling sluggish, which tends to be a lot, it wont bring up the option to go back until it has loaded its page, which is unbelievably frustrating given how fast we like to surf. I missed the fact that i couldnt access my music files without going through a couple of menu's, which was just a pain. I just wanted to listen to music and the phone insisted i hand walk it down the aisle and it felt like it needed me to show it what to do. It was a rather different story with video's and pictures. Easier to get too and did as i wanted to, but the screen isnt exactly hi res. The camera takes nice clear images, and rightly so as it is equipped with a carl zeis camera. Some of these phones can cost quite a bit of money, mine was no exception, and frankly they just are not worth it. My N97 hasn't lasted long unfortunately. We've already parted ways, and i've chose to do without a phone until i have the money together for something that does what it was invented for. Gone are the days of just wanting a phone to make a call or text, they are required to be multi media fun boxes. Sadly this isnt. Overall, its 'ok' but why would you buy a new phone for it to be 'ok'? Save a little longer and your money towards something a little more 'snazzy'Read full review
i bought this phone because my girlfriend is to thick for an iphone, its an ok phone but certainly far from great! what dislike about it is that its ugly, awkward to flip and obviously not a great smart phone baring in mind it is one of the first smart phones so its aint to bad!! u cant compare it to others coz others much newer phones are a lot better! faster look nicer and have andriod or itunes!! but overall if u can get a iphone etc and are stuck in the past then look no further than this phone
It has a few scratches and it don't work properly like the owner says but it is ok now. it is a good phone with a good touch screen...
It worth for price
