I was so happy to be able to finally get a SSD for my computer. But, I am disappointed in the performance In the real world, this SSD only reads a little under 200 and writes a lot slow than that. It is no where near the advertised speed. I benchmarked it doing everything I could to optimize it and the benchmark says It is the slowest of SSD's. Not just this one, but all of the OCZ's that has been tested on the benchmark site have came back as slow, for a SSD. What a disappointment. My computer is faster and noticeably so. But, how much faster would it be, if it was benchmarking at the speeds that was advertised it could do. Almost, all other SSD brands perform better than this one. Several of the other brands actually do read and write at the advertised speed of 500+. It works great and has no bad sectors, it shows to have 100% health, There are no excuses for it to be this slow.Read full review

I don't see how it's faster than a raid configure But it does what it's supposed to do . This thing is useless. The first one did not work at all. BIOS on two machines would not see it, could not format or use. I tried as SATA and on USB dongle. I RMA'd it. Second one was seen occasionally by BIOS and would finish Quick Format but would not accept data. It failed Complete Format so badly that it killed Explorer and I had to force the machine to power off while running. Now that's bad news! I RMA'd it again. Waiting to hear what is next. I have little hope of ever having a working unit. 2 for 2 bad. That's a very horrible track record! So I sent the second one back. The third one arrived quickly. I put it into operation. It lasted 3 days. I give up. I lost my $100 although I tried three times to obtain a working device without success. Shame on you, OCZ!!! There needs to be a rating lower than 1. How about -999. That's my actual rating.Read full review
I buyed this drive to replace my magnetic 250GB hdd. I use Linux as O.S. In my netbook (Asus 1215P) hard disk replacment was difficult, because Asus don't make a door in case for this operation, and I have to disassemble case, very difficult operation due to plastic hangs fragility. However, I mounted this drive and at least I can work without noise of magnetic hard dirive, that seems have to break in any time. I'm very satisfied with this drive: I'm using with my SATA2 interface, so isn't so fast as it could is, but affidability of SSD vs Magnetic HDD is, in my opinion, much much better.
This is the fastest SSD drive in the market. I clocked it's performance at 111MB/s reads. It does reserve a partition of about 100mb in the drive for its internal operation. The drive also saves a lot of power. Another advantage, it isn't susceptible to failure because of a drop; like regular hhds do. It has smaller capacity than mainstream drives. With a separate controller card you can place 2 or 3 of this to create a RAID 0 stripped drive; the speed of the drive. This drive has lowered the boot time of my computer by 75%, dollar for dollar it is the best upgrade you can make to a laptop or desktop.
