This was surely one of the greatest football teams ever produced in the uk. Sure wish i could have seen them play live.

This was purchased as a gift for my father, who attended the event. He said the quality was good and enjoyed watching again nearly 50 yrs on. Only downside still the wrong result!!!
The main reason for buying this item, as with the DVD of the 1961 Final, was the connection with a player in action who originally played for my home town team. John White, sadly killed in his prime by lightning while sheltering under a tree during a round of golf, played for Bonnyrigg Rose FC in the 1950's, before moving on to bigger things in the game. Aside from the link with Bonnyrigg, White lodged with my Aunt & Uncle (who was a Spurs director at the time)in London inding his own lodgings. The game itself I feel was the best of the 2 cup-wining finals, and it was a pleaseure to see John White having such a valuable contribution. My father is currently in the process of collecting memoribilia connected to White for a montage at the Bonnyrigg Rose Social Club, who have named their lounge bar in his honour. This DVD will be a fitting part of that, particualr with the cover showing White holding the trophy, and this is a fitting memory of such a great player, both for Spurs & Scotland. The DVD itslef is excatly as described, and despite the grainy images at times is a fascinating watch and perhaps some of teh overpaid prima donnas in our game today should watch how real men played football in a time before greed took over. 10/10!Read full review
This was the very first Cup Final I can remember watching on our grainy, what was it, 405 lines, black and white TV. Obviously many legendary Spurs names but in those pre SKY days it was amazing how a small town team like Burnley could be so succesful and have so many top quality players in their ranks. There is a degree of wastefulness in possession which would not be tolerated today and it is fair to say that defenders are just that, with little by way of attacking intent. Also interesting how the famous sapping Wembley turf takes it toll as the game progresses and yet today, many club playing surfaces, and not just those belonging to the big boys of the Premier Clubs, are far better than Wembley. All in all a great watch bringing back many happy memories.
