I am not a big rap follower (I like some Eminem, and Dizzy Rascal!), and tend to be quite fussy about rock and electronic music. This album fuses the sounds together in an interesting and melodic way. I have to say the thumping bass, which is a recurring theme across the entire album, really gets me going. But it's the collaboration between the artists (which you would never dream of in a million years!) that really makes the music in this case. If my life depended on picking 2 favourites they'd be "Right Here, Right Now" by Ice Cube & Paul Oakenfold, and "I Against I" by Mos Def & Massive Attack. However, the rest of the tracks are mostly genius blends of backing, lyrics and interesting twists. Highly recommended if you like a bit of Cypress Hill sound but appreciate Basement Jaxx. A word of warning: most of the vocals are rapped. If you find that really irritating no matter what the background, stay away.Read full review
