Very pleased with the Olympus ED14-150 lens, very compact and light weight. i would say this lens will cover most aplications. its true that Olympus have sharper lenses but they are much higher price and with more limited focal range. in every day usage this lens excells.

OK, we are in Covid lockdown and the weather is grey and drizzly, so these are only first observations. To date my fave, walkaround lens has been the 14 45 kit lens. Yes really. Image quality, range and size. But so often I needed a bit more reach at either end. If there had been a 12 60 I would have got that. But there wasn't. So the choice was this lens or the 12 100. Chose this because the latter is a) humungous given that, in theory, a major benefit of M43 is size and b) it is humungously expensive. It is ok as a lens though I still find it rather big and heavy compared to the kit lens. In the 14 45 range it seems as good as the kit lens, but not as good as the 45 1.8. I love the extra reach when out and about, no need to carry extra lenses and scrabble around in bags changing them. To 100 quality seems pretty good. Edging towards 150 it's less good in the distance. Butterflies etc are fine at max zoom. Bird on distantish pole, not so good. And I still miss the 12mm end of things. As it happens, for now, given lockdown etc and reduced outdoor work, my goto, walkaround setup is my EM1 ii (already big!) and this lens if it is primarily a photo trip. Or else (still) this camera and the kit lens. Actually, that's probably not true. These days, to be honest, I'm more likely to find myself with my trusty old EM10 ii and the slow 12-30 Pany lens. Tiny. Quality ok. And it fits in my pocket. The reasons why I went for M43 in the first place. UPDATE: The more I use this lens the more I love it. Up to 5 stars! I think it has taken a bit of time to get used to. Increasingly I am getting better images at the longer zoom, and shots that previously I would have been unable to achieve.Read full review
