This little dictaphone is the best. I have tried many over the years but for quality at an affordable price you can't beat it.

I bought the Olympus WS-100 because I wanted to record some interviews for my research and to put these recordings onto my computer. The WS-100 does this very well. I used a boundary mic but was quite impressed with the capabilities of the built in mic too. The sound quality and ease of use are great. I tended to record a 30-45 minute interview and then put it straight onto computer so I cannot speak for its capacity. The recorder comes in two and exposes a USB connector which plugs straight into the computer. I use an Apple Mac. This product does support the Mac OSX but, unfortunately, it stores the audio files as windows media player (WMA) files. I downloaded a program called EasyWMA from the internet. It converts WMA files to MP3 (or any other format you like). So, no problems there. I have been very happy with the Olympus WS-100. It does everything I want it too and does it well. It is well designed and easy to use. Only issues are the restriction on memory size, not upgradable, and that it is a little difficult to make it come in two (though this may be more to do with my fingers!) .Read full review
I have one of these already and found it quick and easy to use. I lent it to a friend who asked me to get her one, but found it is not made anymore, but was chuffed when I found a new one on Ebay that was less than the half price! It is a great little device- the mic is really good and has three sensitivity (gain) settings. Battery life is good and the menu easy to navigate. My only gripe is that the knobs are a bit small and fiddly, and it is a bit stiff to split the device to download the sound files via the built in USB, but the plus side is you don't need a separate lead, which I believe you need for the newer models. All in all a great device which I would certainly buy again.
Easy to use; & sound good, clear & easy to manipulate and decipher once downloaded onto a computer, if one has the appropriate DSS software. The way the recorder comes apart & plugs directly into a USB port, with no need for fiddly USB connection cables, is a particular delight. It's also excellent how the act of plugging the recorder into a USB port automatically launches the DSS software, ready to download any recordings. The ability then to slow down the speech makes it relatively easy to type up a hard-copy of the recording.
Great little voice recorder. Bought in a rush for instant use and not disappointed. Up and running straight out of the box - easy to use controls - reconditioned but you'd never know the difference from new. Good, clear playback and USB is perfect for instant WMA upload. Very sensitive recording and needs a notepad or something to soak up the vibe if placed on a hard surface. Otherwise a real bargain!
