Great re-release of the 7th Pink Panther movie from 1982 Stars Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau for the Last time. Sadly this isn't one of the best Panther movies. Sellers had been dead for 2 years when this was made with outtake and previously unused and deleted scenes (mainly from PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN) David Niven stars as the suave jewel thief THE PHANTOM. Niven too was so ill he had to be dubbed! The story this time:The Pink Panther diamond has been stolen (again?!) and the president of Lugash requests Clouseau to find it.Off Clouseau goes to locate the missing jewel.. Old footage of Sellers is mixed with new footage with the (living!) alumni (Lom as Dreyfus,Kwouk as Kato etc) with mixed results. Joanna Lumley is an investigative journalist-trying to piece together Clouseau's life and disappearance.. Sadly, while this film tries to preserve the memory of Clouseau (and Sellers too!) it has to be up there with the worst of the series. This DVD is widescreen with the trailer and subtitles. As with all the panther DVD rereleases:Great quality picture and sound.Read full review
The whole family loved this film! It was full yet again of wonderfully funny scenes from Peter Sellers, who remains one of the greats of comedy. The children laughed and laughed at his comical antics throughout the film! Great supporting cast and laughter all the way through in our house! Highly recommended film from a very good seller.
