R-Tech have a good name in welding equipment which is one on the things that attracted me to this plasma cutter. As a first venture into plasma cutting for me the P30C is ideal and especially for the home workshop as yes as the spec says it does run with no problem on a 13 amp supply, you are better off using a decent size compressor as a small hobby type compressor would end up chasing and overheating..It is well worth watching a few Youtue videos on plasma cutting if like me you have never done it before. You do need to wear protective clothing and it's best working outside because of the fumes and flying molten metal. I jumped in with both feet as The first job was cutting a piece of 10mm thick milld steel plate and yes it did it leaving what was specified as a cut that would need dressing up afterwards. It is rated at being able to cut between 1 and 8mm as a clean cut. The P30C is user friendly, one connected to an air supply and switched on if you use the gas test switch air will escape through the torch with the air gauge reading the true working air pressure allowing you the correct this if needed. The amps control is simple and has a clear led read out. The unit itself is tiny and takes up no space when not in use and is the ideal machine for the home workshop.Read full review

great little machine. bit of a d.i.y. thing but handy that it runs on a 13amp circuit. buzzes nicely through 3mm steel. struggles a bit over 5mm steel. like other plasmas i have used it works fine with a new nozzle but these wear out quickly. i have yet to buy spare tips but i will be buying a bag full. overall very easy to use and great for smaller projects.

This is quite expensive for what it is but the attraction is the extended warranty. It's also fitted with quality electronics which are superior to the standard offering. You wouldn't buy this for the occasional job unless you were like me; with a bucket list of must-haves! These devices are a bit like MIG welders; they do require practice to get good repeatable results. Once mastered; the pleasure derived from switching on and completing a cut is enormous. Set up time is minimal and the spare components are reassuring. The air pressure adjusting control is located inside the cabinet; accessed via a door. It's a bit cramped but fortunately once set it should not need further adjustment and it is protected from damage. I'm well pleased.

This is a fantastic plasma cutter that just works . The main reason for buying this is it's from a UK family run business . Any problems and you've always got support and someone to speak to plus a 3 year warranty and it can run from a 13amp plug . There are cheaper machines on eBay but think twice before buying ! And consider all the points that I have mentioned in this review . Those generic Chinese machines look tempting but they are of inferior quality with no support to back you up when things go wrong . The rtec works brilliantly and is built solid and cuts as advertised. The consumables can be got really cheap for a large bag full . You won't be sorry buying this .
