      Should be on every MINI

      Not the easiest installation but by far one of the most impressive differences I have made to my cars feel. Steering now feels smooth as cream and has better turn in response, and to my amazement has made the car far more comfortable climbing curbs (with due care) than the old OEM bushes ever did. I’ve read people worrying about it creating more in cab noise or harsher vibrations but I can honestly say it’s no different than before (car currently has powerflex engine and gear box mounts which is where the extra noise and vibrations will come from) and surprisingly made it more comfortable; probably because the wishbones now have more meat to absorb forces than the poor OEM bushes and can also react to forces with a lot more stability. I recommend complimenting these fitment with new inner ...

      Easier to fit and longer lasting

      Fitted on Saturday morning, pretty much a painless process. On the mini R50 you remove the suspension arms, then use a sawzall to cut through the steel outer of the bush. Once you’ve cut through all the way the tension is off the old bush and they just pop out. After the bores get polished up with some fine Emery, the new bushes press in with some treaded rod and something round and the right size to push the bush in. Once installed, arms are refitted and the jobs done. I did weigh up fitting oem style bushes, but that would have meant either buying a special tool or dropping the subframe, so for me it was more cost effective and easier to fit the powerflex replacements. I’m sure the ride may be a tad harder, but to be fair the bushes wanted doing when I brought the car, so it’s hard ...

      Much better than stock!

      These powerflex bushings are MUCH more durable than stock. They are also much less work to install than the OEM lower control arm bushings. I took a few attempts to install the bushings into the bracket, because I was rushing and did a poor job of centring the assembly.. to my amazement I didn't damage or rip the bushing even though I was CERTAIN I would have damaged them due to my forceful attempts to cram them in off-centre. OEM equipment would certainly not be this forgiving! I plan to use powerflex equipment for all my suspension products from now on! Do yourself a favour, save some time and effort. Pick up a set of these powerflex bushings 👍

      Powerflex bushes mini R50

      I found the powerflex bushes to be of very good quality and quite easy to fit with full instructions included. They took the play out of the joints and now the vehicle isn't making any more knocking noises
