This range from Mission often suffers from failure of the glue holding the plastic front baffle in place. This can lead to rattling on loud bass notes. They can be re-glued with a bit of patience. This was a youth orientated range; good party speakers but as standard they can sound a bit vague and boomy for delicate music. Upgrading the cheap electrolytic capacitors in the crossover to film types improves them a great deal in terms of detail, clarity and balance. Very rewarding for people who are happy to tinker as there is a decent pair of speakers in there and pairs with problems can be picked up cheap.

Poorly made speakers. After a few weeks of purchase the glue holding the plastic front plate that holds the speakers broke away allowing the panel to vibrate in the enclosure destroying the quality of sound from the speakers as the front resonated during bass notes. This is a common issue with the later type mission speakers. Utter rubbish.

Find the Mission 702e a good affordable speaker for both TV HT and Audio CD playback. I took it upon myself to do DIY, first tighten up the loose baffles on this model as glue can/does become unstuck and then rattles. After sound calbration sounds fine on both my stereo setting and my 7.1 system.
