Unfortunately the operating system is now getting quite old and cannot be updated so the TV Guide is not up to modern standards. Forget the Internet players they can't be updated either so are pretty much useless. They date from around 2011! Before l bought this l thought l could transfer programs onto a hard drive then plug the hard drive into a laptop to watch progams away from home. No chance. Once the hard drive is registered to the Pansonic it won't be recognised by the computer, even a Linx file reader. Probably for copyright reasons. You can't even reformat the hard drive with the computer as it isn't recognised in any way! On the positive side the live and recorded pictures are excellent. Will also play video files from Usb stick in excellent resolution. It's a good simple recorder but an update could make it much better. Why can't Panasonic issue one?Read full review
