Although not a sportsman, I have taken to these phones. They are less likely to fall out than the plug-in-ear type, and it is nice not to have a rubber bung in the ear. With my high frequency hearing loss, I canot know but guess that someone with normal hearing might find them a bit "toppy". Only downside: a bit to wide to be comfortable listening in bed on one's side. LATER: One point to note: After some use these significantly lost volume. Turned out that the unusually small sound outlet is covered by a piece of mesh that (for me at least) could easily get filled with earwax, greatly muffling the sound. Removing this mesh (easy) restored the volume at some small cost in losing its protective function (against both water and wax)

These would not stay in my ears or my wifes any longer than 3 to 5 minutes each time. Guess they may be OK for a sport where you dont move, but if you actually do move they dont do the job very well
