This DVD follows a format of dancercise, with funky club music. It has short work-outs with different dance styles so you can put it on to do a 10 minute work out before work or go through all the sessions if you want to do a longer work out if you have more time. Some of the combinations of moves were a bit tricky to begin with but it is consolling that Patsy also sometimes doesn't get it quite right, is relaxed and has a giggle too. It doesn't make you feel bad if you can't quite get it straight away as you can improvise. This is enjoyable, feels like I am going out dancing (with routines) which the more you do, the better you become. I didn't want to loose weight, but take some exercise/tone (although Patsy claims to have lost 2 stone doing it), it can be picked up as and when you like - but I do have to stop myself saying 'Ricky' to her. Good fun, would recommend.Read full review
The Patsy Palmer Urban Workout DVD is good, however the camera angles do tend to jump about a bit. This is slightly annoying when trying to learn the routines, but other than than that very good.
As well as going to the gym every week I have a varied collection of workout dvds, my favourites being Nell and Davina. I thought I would try this one as some of the reviews were quite good. I didn't expect too much from it but can say I have pleasantly been surprised by it - I did work up a sweat during the 3 cardio sections. I have got to say that all of the sections were a tad too short for me (especially the abs section and the lunges), but I have put this into my 'short of time' category along with a few others that are quite short which, when pushed for time (being a working mum of two) can be a godsend if your original plans of doing a longer workout or even popping to the gym go astray! Patsy is very encouraging and comes across as a lovely person. The music is also good and tracks which you will recognise. I think this is streets ahead than her Ibiza Workout which I bought as well but do not like at all, especially the male dancer/instructor who makes the whole thing a farce. The female instructor in this one though does seem more serious but in a good way and it is great to see her and Patsy making mistakes a few times and that really spurs you on. The camera angles do get annoying at some points when you are trying to concentrate on the steps and need to look at Patsy's and the instructor's feet but for some reason the camera is aiming at their faces...but other than that it is a good little workout. Recommended but really for a day when you are pushed for time! I am glad it is in my collection anyway.Read full review
Love this - had it on video and am very glad you can buy it on dvd. The exercises are very easily explained and easy to do. Patsy makes the whole workout fun with her banter. This is a more dance based workout than some but you can also pick and chooose which sections to do.
