I LOVE this triple box set.To see Paul McCartneys' solo Video output in such Wonderful Digital Quality is a Real Joy for me and mine, the Audio is Astounding never have his exquisite bass lines sounded so clear to my ears.Listen to the mix on Silly Love Songs. Playlist Volume1:It is nearly impossible for me to short list favourite videos from this wonderful batch of memories, however from a purely personal point of view I recomend the cinematography in Babys'Request,Take It Away,Ebony and Ivory, Waterfalls(with a polar bear) is as quintessentially English as Jeeves and Wooster. There are some wonderful shots of Paul and his Real Better Half our linda thoroughly enjoying themselves in Heart of the Country. Record company,Law suits aside, I always thought that Fun in capital letters was the constant factor of the McCartney years and these videos prove that in just the first disc/volume alone. Wings Really seemed to have alot of Fun Rocking, to hear this for yourself watch Helen Wheels,Hi Hi Hi and I've Had enough,Then have yourself a Real treat and Check out Juniors Farm in the Extras section. So now lets look at Volume/disc two, there are some really marvellous videos to be found here.Well it starts with Pipes of Peace, which focuses on the Christmas day football match on the World War 1 battlefield. Then theres a whole lot of lordy lordy melodic fun and frolics with Ringo and all in Beautiful Night. No More lonely Nights is a Magnificent Mood piece that had we reaching for my old vhs copy of Give My Regards To Broad Street. The video for "This One" had me smiling from beginning to end with its colourful Indian Beatles type pastiche ,i'm sure the brothers Gallagher must have watched this one before making their own wonderful "All Around the World" video.Little Willow almost brought tears to my eyes,Hope of Deliverance lifted my spirits and Once Apon A Long Ago was as twice as colourful and brilliantly crafted as I remember.Other videos that standout for me were Off the Ground,Biker Like an Icon,Spies Like Us,Figure of Eight and one of my all time favourite post Beatle McCartney Anthems C'mon People. The real and time lapse visuals still look great today. OK I ADMIT IT I LOVED VIRTUALLY EVERY TRACK of both video playlist discs..I suppose the only exception is Paul travelling on the London Underground which to my eyes fails to reflect the Greatness of his song Press To Play. Also I would of liked to of seen Only love Remains, Distractions and Jenny Wren included. All in All 9 and 3/4 out of 10 .But wait for it Volume 3 quite literally takes the package into THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY DVD SET I'VE EVER PURCHASED!!!!!!!!10 out of 10 !!!!!!! VENUS AND MARS need I say more ROCKSHOW in FULL DIGITAL TECHNICOLOUR SUPERMARIONATION (oh no thats Thunderbirds) Seriously Folks Maybe I'm Amazed to finally watch some of Rockshow and Unplugged in such a bright clear visual format with near perfect sound reproduction,I've waited many years for such a moment as This One and there never could be a better moment to blow a few quid on some True McCartney Magic .Apart from all the material I've covered you also get Glastonbury (HEY JUDE IS Awsome) ,Live Aid and the far to short Creating Chaos At Abbey Road. I hope you find this review helpful and if you do purchase The McCartney Years, I really wish You get as much enjoyment out of it as I have.Listen and Watch What The Man Said YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED.Read full review
