Excellent product. Just make sure that there is an even smear on both sides of the gasket before fitting. I found it much better than silicon. When dry, Silicon if applied too thick, can break off and block the fine oil ways. This stuff remains tacky, it doesn't dry so it doesn't damage the gasket even if you have to re open the joints later for some reason. I used it with a gasket. I don't know if it can be used on its own without a gasket. Probably not.
