This is the second one of these that I've owned. I was really pleased with the first one especially with the quality, cut and ease of use. After 2 years I got the "replace cutters" warning light. However, new cutters are well more than half the cost of a new shaver, so I bought this new one instead. The new one feels slightly cheaper than the older one and everything seems not quite so good. It is still fine and an awful lot better than Remington's version, but it's lost something. I wonder if I've bought a cheaper model without realising it? Still, it's good value and does the job!

Maybe I’m not using it properly as I only use it dry. I had a previous phillishave which is still working well after 10 years, but this newer model feels flimsy. I think the shaving heads are smaller and finer, so I suppose I should really give it a bit longer to get used to it, but it seems to take much longer to shave now. Oh, and you can’t leave it plugged in while using it like the old one, which was handy when it ran out of charge.

Works well particularly with a little shaving cream and a little hot water. Battery holds charge well and is quick to re-charge when needed. The shaving head is easy to remove and clean all in all a useful shaver well made and reliable.

I have owned a wet and dry Philips shaver for over 10 years, and it has served me well but like everything it war out, so time for a new one, being impressed with my old wet and dry I decided a new wet and dry was the way to go, so I bought one at a reasonable price, it dually arrived and looked ok, but after using it Not impressed, it is cheaply made, it can’t be used when still attached to its flex, so once charged the charge lasts hardly any time one at full speed maybe, then it’s all downhill, so needs constant charging, the shave it gives is nowhere near as good as my old shaver, the cutters are cheaply made, quite frankly the whole shaver is a cheap knockoff. Would I recommend it absolutely NOT.

For the price, you do not get a pop-up trimmer. More so, it can not do a quick two minute charge to tide over if there is no charge left when you erringly start a new shave. One would have to discipline oneself to remember that after 10 shaves maximum, you may need to put the shaver for a minimum full 8 hour charge for the next morning. Yes, it all reflects on what you pay for. Still, the wet and dry function allows you to clean the machine inside out after every shave. Again it is a pity that the shaver does not come with a stand which would have drained out the water ready and dried out for next morning. One would have to improvise on standing the water cleaned shaver on a vertical position to let the water drain out. The shaver does its job (of shaving) nevertheless, and very well too.
