Hi, I bought this unit in 2004 for £450 from a car audio specialist, these are a fantastic sounding unit with a very expensive sleek look to the design, there finished in a brushed alloy look not a cheap silver! In 2004 this was voted as the best sounding slave headunit in all of the max-power and fastcar mags with 10/10 for quality of sound and held the top spot for over a year! I would fully reccomend this unit to anyone 10/10
The reason I decided to buy one of these Head units, is because I already have one in my run around car, have been looking for another for ages to complete my restoration project, the unit is excelent and sound quality is crystal clear, I run two amps off of it and 1 x two 8'' subs 1 x front door speakers, the sound of the bass is punchy, while the treble remaining sharp. I have owned the unit for 4 - 5 years has never broken, hard waring, timeless design, whilst retaining both practical configuration with simple layout. (no need for silly jumping dolphins or racing cars on the screen here).
unbelievable sound quality for such an old'ish product! the 24bit burr brown da converters really work well!
I bought this unit to put some modern sounds into my Capri with some retro style - so as not to spoil the look. I almost pulled it off too. While its standard size, standard is just too big, it can't be done, but a fine effort and as close as you'll get to the desired look. Once you've got used to the size, its a joy. If you didn't know better, you'd think all was right. Two lovely big controls and a beautiful bright display, easily navigated menu and a few hundred retro tunes in mp3 format on one cd just complement my tail happy capri nicely. I've added a remote since buying it - recommended. Quart into a pint pot, but take your time fitting it and it the look can be achieved. I'd say it'd look fantastic in a later car with the aperture made for it already there.
