What can i say abotu this artist that isn't epitomised by the fact Mike Skinner played him, when standing in for Zane Lowe, on Radio 1 last night. The fact also that when he first came to my attention, was at an acoustic chairty gig supporting the Kooks and soon to be massive Get Cape-Wear Cape-Fly. He is immenesly talented both in his lyrical creativity and ability story telling. Even my grilfriend loves his album and yet she is strongly against British Hip Hop. Therefore, with at least five standout tracks in Charmaine, Mama loves a crack head, dead & buried, who needs actions when you got words, as well as a take on the prodigy's classic 'no good'; i assure this is an album that deserves to be recognised. Think the talents of Eminem & Mike Skinner combined, with the old skool guitar and singing abilies of Lucy Pearl. No wonder those in the know are start to sit up and take note of an extremely talented British Musician, who in spite of the cliches does keep it very very real to his street background. Trust you won't regret buying this album, even if your not convinced thus far its worth the risk i assure....enjoyRead full review
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST UK ARTISTS AT THE MIN AND TO GET THIS CD IS A GREAT PLEASURE.............GRIME NATION......BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Great CD. Got interested in Plan B through his involvement with mike skinner. the album contains lots of dark stuff as you'd expect, but it is done well. having heard some of the pre-production versions of the songs on the album, the commercialization of some of it is apparent, which is a shame. Get the album, listen to some of the acoustic and early versions of some of the songs, stick them onto your MP3 player and you'll find plan b amongst your favorite artists.
Great cd from the start, language and topics are, of course not all so pleasant, dealing with crime, death, drugs, violence and underage girls. But, the production is good, well balanced mixes, a thoughtful artist who is as talented on the guitar as he is at rap. Plan B deals with things honestly and the lyrics reflect that. No real glorification of any of the above mentioned.
If you like your music hard and home grown then this is for you. Great lyrics with a staccato delivery peppered with obscenities delivered as only an englishman can. Absolutely brilliant album and should grace anyone's music collection. I bought this to add to my defamation of Strickland banks by plan b and what a difference, but still it was worth the money, at one point he starts to sound slightly like rage against the machine but what's wrong with that. Great album by a great artist. Get it, you won't be disappointed.
