i brought this prouduct because i like action movies and i like mark wahlberg films i like it very much this prouduct compare to other was a very good buy for the money
When I first heard that the famous (& Classic) Planet of the Apes was about to be reborn (some time ago), I was pleasantly surprised, I was also somewhat concerned since the original series of films seemed so unique & well done, - even haunting with Charlton Heston playing such a powerful & moving role. I hasten to admit that I was never disappointed at the original sixties effort to create such realistic apes. Even the TV spin off's were compelling & thought provoking. This brought me to realise that any attempt to recreate in a modern guise such a classic movie would have to be very, very good indeed. Without question I expected the Apes to be extremely real using today's make up techniques & State of the Art effects, - there would certainly be no excuse for anything else at all. Obviously this is, of course, the case & there is no doubt that extensive work was applied here to create almost real apes with very well practised, acted 'human like' movements! What concerned me most of all was whether this film would portray an extremely haunting, shocking & almost frightening, compelling taste of what such an unimaginable scenario would be like. It's certainly not a carbon copy of the original. The space introduction adds concept to a slightly modified drama in effect. This gives thought to the screenplay & keeps the movie interesting as we see it develop into a fairly edgy & brutal nail-biting thriller. The battle sequences are horrendously dynamic & very well staged. Toward the atmospheric end, the reality of conquest & warrior 'kill or be killed' instincts provoke fearful thoughts of the necessity of war and some tight 'seat gripping' moments. What is a huge disappointment though is the almost 'gothic' art style that the movie has been staged around. It's almost the 'Gotham City' of Batman – all over again. There are the 'batmobile' curves to the space vehicles & the dismal comic book shadows cast around landscapes & the 'evil fairy tale style' planet that the story is set in, - nothing like home. It worked in fashion for the first Batman movie, but I don't like it here at all. I would have preferred a more homely or conventional set than this. I don't know but I wouldn't mind betting that the director or someone that was involved in the Batman movies had a very strong creative say on this set indeed! This was not good. It has given a different flavour, almost fashion to the film but certainly not an original taste. It was (probably the only), one element that has caused me to add insult here. That said a very successfully motivated piece has been created here. This is without doubt a gripping, fearfully thoughtful, compelling, & mildly brutal thriller. There is a very minor stab at humour too, with some ape-like antics being portrayed in an obviously funny fashion. Surely we can't expect sequel after sequel though (Batman style perhaps) & get away with too much of this again & again? Even the orchestrated musical score seemed reminiscent of such a theme! The American accents are abounding too with the USAF space role scenes. I wasn't convinced that even the Apes themselves didn't have accents too (probably due to overacting)! If you really enjoyed the original movie then this is without doubt a curious 'must see'. Don't compare, sit back holding the edge of your seat, ponder & enjoy the brilliant climatic battle conquest. Then start thinking about how it really did all come to be in this remake!Read full review
