I love it! It is a great book, not only for girls but for boys too. It teaches kids to keep going, do not give up. Life is hard. Everything worth doing usually requires a lot of patience, work and perseverance. It is quite a big book, one of the biggest picture books and we have about 300. I like the illustrations too. It looks like ink and watercolours. If you have enough of looking at cartoony, over-colourful illustrations of many modern books for kids, then you will enjoy this one. I also love simple to read text, it is just the simplest font. I dislike fancy font which is tiring to look at. Young early readers can read it themselves. It is like a breath of fresh air in many ways. My young sons enjoyed it too. One of those books I am happy to keep for my sister's baby daughter.

The princesses are tired of doing nothing: they think the servants must be having more fun, and decide to swap. But will they really be able to do all the chores their servants do every day? There seems to be a lot more work than they expected, but princesses are not quitters! Will things in the palace ever be the same again? A very fun book to read aloud, especially for parents of little girls who are a bit tired of soppy princess stories!
