This is a good travel tripod for the price. Being made of carbon, it is very light, and it folds up small enough to fit in airline hand luggage. It won't win any prizes for stability in high winds, but that's the compromise with the weight saving. The fixing plate is a simple clamp type thing which is fine for when the tripod is in place, but not secure enough to carry the tripod around with the camera on it. Overall, good value for money.

The tripod is stable, lightweight and compact enough. BUT, when you lock the head, the camera tilts slightly and you need to correct it a couple of times to achieve an accurate position. Furthermore, after 2-3 weeks of (light) use, the lock does not release the head, when untightened and you need to apply extra force, thus loosing alignment altogether. Then it unlocks.

It fits esily on the back of a rucksck, and even inside. So lightwieght and small I take it more often and have used it extensively. I am not a fan of tripods, extra clobber to carry and normally heavy, but this tripod is perfect. It easily takes my Nikon D7200 with a Sigma 150 - 500 mm lens.

Disclaimer: I've been using this tripod for only a week and hence i can't review it's durability nor it's long term shortcomings. You know you're sacrificing stability for compactness, but that is a trade off i was aware willing to make when i purchased this tripod. That said, it can be folded to a standard size of a backpack and will not protrude, in bigger backpacks with a large compartment it can also be stored inside. I find the locking and unlocking mechanism of the legs to be preferable to latch style tripod legs, it's not as secure but it's not also time consuming, you can open the legs fast and easily with no effort. I would advise care when tightening to knobs as they may be prone to wear and eventually break, though no such force is needed to secure the legs in place. Carbon fibre makes it even lighter than an aluminium tripod, and that is also a big plus. The removable leg which can be turned into a monopod is a huge plus, though it requires some time to set up because you need to remove the centre column by unscrewing the bottom of it, get a separate screw (which is included) and attach them together. Not a big deal at all but don't expect to do this one handed or in less than 2 or 3 minutes. One downside i found is that the included ball head has too many components made of plastic, specially the QR clamp and the plate, which is OK but i was expecting some sort of metal. But at this price point i see expenses had to be cut somewhere, and you can always buy a separate ball head for this. Overall this is one of the best price-performance compact tripods out there, there is no competition to this when looking for a lightweight and small tripod. 5 stars, would buy again.Read full review

I got this tripod yesterday and immediately test it with some equipment. It comes well packaged, even with an extra protector on the ball head. Installation is easy, just take seconds to ground up the thing. The monopod conversion is also fast and straightforward. I mounted my Canon EOS 6D + Sigma 100-400 (~2kg) on it, and keeps it rock steady so the ball head is very high quality and secured by 2 screws.
