The clock is a very nice and extremely rare C1750 grandfather 10 bell musical clock of 8 day duration with a superb and i mean superb burr walnut or mulberry case with the most beautiful colour and patina to it amazing quality and in great condition

Clock was made by Thomas Crofts of Leeds who is well recorded in brian loomes clock makers of the world as working mid 18th century in Leeds

The clock has superb proportions rarely seen and original of the highest quality imaginable
The movement, dial, case and seat board are all original to each other and not a marriage and is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine antique musical longcase clock which will prove to be a superb investment and will only grow and grow in value, such a rare clock

CIRCA - 1750
The clock has a superb design case with a glazed hinged door to front of hood protecting the dial

The beautiful burr walnut case has a removable sliding hood to top which slides off to reveal access to the top quality 8 day 10 bell musical movement and brass dial both of which are in Great condition

Just take a look at the colour and patina of the case, it is like nothing i have seen before absolutely mond blowing and all original with a solid oak carcuss with the most beautiful original walnut or mulberry veneer that i have ever seen, the case is very heavy being constructed of solid oak

The Case has a full length trunk door which hinges open to reveal access to the 3 brass weights and brass pendulum, the trunk door has its original working lock and key

The Beautiful burr walnut case has a stunning colour and patination to it which looks awesome wherever it is displayed with fine exotic wood to the whole solid oak carcuss case

The case has the most stunning decoration to it and looks amazing wherever it is displayed

The case is in great condition for age with no damage and only minimal signs of age - great for age and all original

Fantastic Proportions Measuring 95.25 Inches high x 22.5 inches widest x 10.5 Inches Deepest

The main trunk measures 14.5 inches wide x 7.5 inches deep



The clock benefits from its original brass and silver arched dial with roman numerals and beautiful original English hand made hands

The dial features a silvered chapter ring with a superbly engraved centre and ormolu spandrels to corners and top arch with a boss in the arched with makers name engraved Thomas Crofts of London, and original ormolu spandrels to corners the dial again is of fine quality and in superb condition

The dial again is in totally faultless condition for age

Dial measures 19.25 inches high x 14 inches wide




The Clock benefits from its original high quality English 8 day three weight 10 bell musical chiming movement

The movement chimes every quarter of an hour on 10 bells which sound absolutely fantastic, it also strikes the number of hours on the hour on the larger bell, after the full chimes have finished playing, it plays a beautiful musical melody
The movement is in working order, keeping time with its original pendulum and its 3 brass weights

This is an amazing high end quality early musical longcase clock which will prove to be a super investment and i have to say one of the nicest looking ones i have seen


Obviously collection is preferred but we use a private courier company who will collect the clock from me and deliver to you with approx 2 week window from collecting from me, the price for this service is £110 to mainland U.K.

After the 14 days we offer a 60 day warranty on our clock movements which means if after the 14 day period if a fault is found within the clock mechanism then you can return it to us for it to be repaired in our workshops at no cost to you only return postage, this is limited to 60 days from the date of sale

The warranty excludes mainsprings and mainspring damage caused by forcefully overwinding and also excludes any setting up or balancing issues (A Professional/experienced person is recommended when first setting the clock up)
