Panasonic SG-J600L Stereo Music System
This rare and collectable item is in fantastic condition for its age with just some light scratches to the upper surface and light marks as expected with age. It has been looked after, never abused and owned for a long, long time. So why am I selling such a wonderful item? We've a baby boy and I have too many dad toys, so need to lose a few and make space for his toys.
It consumes 14W of power, 110v, 127v, 220v or 240v so you could take this around the world if you so desired. Powered by mains or 9 (yes, nine!) "D" sized batteries providing 13.5v. It just so happens that your average camper van alternator provides a similar voltage, which is handy because there is a 13.2V (12 - 13.2V) DC input connector !!
It works perfectly, including the turntable and I've even played some of my good vinyl on this without (too much) cause for concern.
The speakers are detachable, so if you don't like the sound of tin, actually, they're not that bad considering their size, 10W RMS and they're not made by Alba, so enough to fill a room at home, but you could wire in some of your own. Or you could hook these speakers on the wall or place them on a shelf if you didn't want them attached and folding outwards from the unit itself.
Cassette decks worked fine last time I tested them, a year or so ago, but they've not been used since then and I no longer have any 'tapes' so you'll need to take my word on them working still, I don't see why not but no guarantees.
The tuner is fantastic, picks up local and national radio stations with ease and the turntable is a cheap panasonic belt drive affair that works just fine, I love it. It, along with the cassette deck doors, has a nice soft touch release/popout.
The unit has a large aerial which retracts and folds away and a good sized carry handle which is a must if you're powering by battery.
On the rear of the unit are connections for your haut-parleurs (6-16 ohm) and a standard left and right input for CD player or any auxilary device such as TV, video, iwhatsit, etc.
On the front of the unit are connections for microphone and headphones (brilliant!) a three band graphic equalizer which works a treat and slidey volume, which again works just fine.
It is in super clean condition, the photos don't really do it justice, I've also probably cleaned it again since, it's currently living in an office enviroment so no dust, cat hairs or children to worry about.
Now, the nitty gritty. This is one fragile piece of kit, yes I know it has a carry handle and is portable, and is well made and from Japan. But couriers these days are in a rush, so it'll need some professional packing skills to arrive in one piece, which is why insured courier is a must (£5+VAT for insurance) and the courier is £10.50p without that insurance.
I'd love it if you could collect, located in Clitheroe, Lancashire which is a traditional market town with a castle and lots of cafe's, a good day out, but if you want it sending you'll need to be patient while I buy some packaging and get it booked with the courier.
That should cover everything, please do ask any questions and thank you for reading this long description. Oh, the price, I'm asking £95 which you can buy now for, but if you wish, drop me a reasonable offer, I'm all ears.
Returns not accepted, you are welcome to view before you buy, item as photographed and per my honest description. If sending by courier and damaged, I will put a claim in with the courier and forward any compensation provided.
