Very, very rare!
If you're reading this then you probably need no introduction as you already know how rare is this vinyl double album from Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant. Bought second hand on eBay some years ago, this has rarely been played, and when it was, was handled with utmost care and played on a high-end Project Debut III turntable. Yes, the current owner is an audiophile geek and treats his records better than some of his friends.
The good news is that the vinyl plays beautifully, with a rich, warm sound that, in my opinion, surpasses the CD version (which I also have). I checked the first LP and it played clean as a Tibetan bell. Totally flawless. Also, the unique number is a rather low 494. I believe the print run for this edition was 5,000 copies. It has the same tracks as the UK edition, which means it has the bonus track Dirt In A Hole, which is a stunning rocker. The whole album covers all of Plant's musical interests, from stomping Zep-like riffs, to mellow acoustic chimes, to psychedelic tunes, wrapped up in organic and trippy 21st century sounds delivered by possibly his best backing band. It's just a really well recorded and mixed album which, ironically, blows away his previous album with Jimmy Page, Walking Into Clarksdale.
The slightly bad news is that the outer sleeve has two very minor corner dents. They are visible in the photo but are hardly more than you might get from a new album from a store. Dents happen. That's how it came to me. Secondly, the inner sleeves, while lovely quality, have been overstressed by the thicker vinyl and some the edges have been very lightly damaged. You can see some of this in the photos with the inner sleeves. Again, this is the same condition I received the album. This is why I keep the discs in high quality generic inners and do not use the inner sleeves anymore. Either, none of these small defect alter the fact that the overall packaging is lovely and quite acceptable to even a discerning collector. The discs are what you want and they are absolutely gorgeous. Just check out the photos!
PayPal for UK & international. I will accept UK bank transfer via IBAN for UK - details given upon winner's request.
The album will be posted in a proper LP cardboard mailer, with all care taken to ensure it arrives in exactly the same condition as sent. As a collector, I hate it when sellers use low quality mailers which can allow LPs to be damaged. I will not do it to you.
Feel free to ask me anything about this item. I have been on eBay for over ten years and have a 100% feedback record.
Happy bidding and good luck!
