There is a specific reason why a film studio would launch a 20th anniversary edition of one of their movies, and that is because the film itself has stood the test of time. You could debate all night long about the truly wonderful gems that have come from the special partnership of Scorsese and De Niro, but most likely you will conclude that this movie, this wonderful Raging Bull, deserves to be called their Magnum Opus.

First the good. Great cinematography, De Niro and Pesci are impressive and the music is fine. My overall impression now though having watched the movie again is that it's many scenes of people screaming at each other and character's that are just awful. The boxing scenes are much more like 'Rocky' than I remember too. Overrated I think.

Great for film analysis as a film student.

Great film, shot with an aesthetic fil noir film feel. Nitty gritty, hardcore feelings exectuted by Dinero and Co. Film that has a ln immediate affect on the audience, and a major impact for some years to come. Only one more film comes close, that's taxi driver....
