  • This is an easy paced and charming account of the early days of Chester Zoo

This is an easy paced and charming account of the early days of Chester Zoo through the eyes of its founder youngest daughter. If you know the Zoo today, you'll be fascinated by its beginnings and its founder George Mottershead. The story finishes in 1949, which is a tad too early for me - but I'd buy the sequel if its ever written.
