This little device is certainly a good basis for a working desktop easel. It is well constructed and does what it is designed for competently. However, for me it is let down by limited adjustability - in particular, the first raised position is too steep. For watercolour work, I like to have the option of working at a very shallow angle from the horizontal, which is not naturally available from the Reeves easel as currently sold. Fortunately, a simple improvement is available. A baton of approx 10 x 32 x 350 mm can be placed in any of the three pairs of slots, such that the support bar can rest on or against it - giving six more options, four of which are shallower than the natural shallowest angle. This product is maybe slightly overpriced at the £19 inc P&P I paid. At this price point I would like to find an entry-level pochade, and am currently working on adapting this Reeves easel to be just that.Read full review

It arrived very quick. It was very good value for money, as some I had seen were much dearer but didn't look any different. It is also strongly made. I am very pleased with it as its a bonus to have when I'm working.
