Read and absorbed this book when my daughter was growing up and bought it again recently for a friend who felt that their own children were being sucked-in. It's slightly pretentious at times, and is inclined to portray TV in the worst possible light, but if you have a balanced outlook you'll find this an interesting read if not taken too literally. That being said you're unlikely to buy or indeed read this book unless you already have an aversion to the impact of global media/advertising/misinformation, and it's frustrating that those who might benefit most are unlikely to ever take it off the shelf
