Preaching to the converted...
Read and absorbed this book when my daughter was growing up and bought it again recently for a friend who felt that their own children were being sucked-in. It's slightly pretentious at times, and is inclined to portray TV in the worst possible light, but if you have a balanced outlook you'll find this an interesting read if not taken too literally.
