Robyn's self titled third album is an enjoyable listening experience. It includes the worldwide hit With Every Heartbeat, remixed by Kleerup. Also included is her current single, Handle Me.
Most modern pop you see on the shelves today has reached its limit where in which it either all sounds the same as ideas run short, they are all covers of previous songs (groan), or all manufactured from TV reality shows. So it is nice to see something with a bit of originality on the shelves this year with Robyn's new album. The Swedish pop singer, full name Robin Miriam Carlsson, who is well known in her country has slammed into the UK with this very original collection of songs. She has gone it alone and created her own label "Konichiwa Records" (in association with Island Records to help distribution across the globe) after falling out with her original label "Jive Records" over the electro-pop sound of "Who's that girl" which is featured in her album. The album is a mixture of new styles, mostly electro-pop, manga hip hop and balladry, some strongly worded anthems mixed with others, which is a real treat of flavours for the ears. Not often do you get an album where every track doesn't sound the same:- it keeps you interested and listening throughout. With the UK Release in 2007 of "With Every Heartbeat" Robyn's album made a revised comback in August 2007. The album features other unique electro-hits such as "Cobrastyle", "Robotboy" and "Konichiwa Bitches" full of lyrics and strange textures of sound that would give Madonna a run for her money. Tracklisting of UK Album: 01. Curriculum Vitae (Intro) 02. Konichiwa Bitches 03. Cobrastyle 04. Handle Me 05. Bum Like You 06. Be Mine! 07. With Every Heartbeat (ft. Kleerup) 08. Who's That Girl 09. Bionic Woman 10. Crash And Burn Girl 11. Robotboy 12. Eclipse 13. Should Have Known 14. Any Time You Like 15. Jack U Off (UK Bonus Track) I would personally recommend this album as a driving CD as well as something to have in the background whilst you do the ironing. In contrast with her big UK hit "With Every Heartbeat", "Crobrastyle" is an upbeat electro-hiphop style that is sure to get you moving. Again, this is the good thing about this album, excellent contrasting styles to keep you listening throughout! If you are looking for something new to quench your music collection, have a go at Robyn. It's just what the UK charts needed.Read full review
This album is ok personally I only like 2 songs on it which are "Handle Me" and "With Every Heartbeat". Probably if you are a Robyn fan you will like them all. The other songs are not that bad its just my personal opinion and what music I like. If you are a Robyn fan you will probably love this album. I would recommend it just for the 2 songs that are stated above.
