WHY BUY AN SDR8100 FROM ME?: Are you tired of wasting time and money on training with other Windows-based data collectors like the Ranger or Recon or the Trimble TSCe or TSC1 only to find out that they slow you down in the field? If you're looking for a data collector with an intuitive user-friendly interface for conventional Total Station data collection as well as GPS data collection with a proven record of reliability, then the SDR8100 is right for you. If you've been using a "calculator-based" data collection solution such as the Hewlett-Packard (hp) 48 or 42, you will appreciate the large keypad and easy-to-navigate menu system on the SDR8100. Simply enter the Job Name, select your instrument from the menu, enter the coordinates of your Station and backsight points, and you're ready to begin collecting data. And unlike other Windows CE data collectors or other DOS-based data collectors such as the Husky, there's no additional expensive software to buy since it's built right into the SDR8100. When you buy an SDR8100 from me, you will receive all of the cables, batteries, charger, software, reference material, and technical support that you need to get started working right away. I have 15 years of experience using and supporting Sokkia SDR electronic field books and instruments, and I will be here to help you long after the sale. Please browse through my feedback profile and see how your buying experience will be. And the technical support from Sokkia is second to none. I urge you to check out their website at www.Sokkia.com and see for yourself.
SDR LEVEL 5: The SDR8100 with SDR Level 5 is the logical upgrade path for Surveyors who have used SDR33 and/or SDR31 data collectors in the past. In fact, if you have ever used an SDR33 data collector, you probably already know how to use the SDR8100. The SDR Level 5 software has the same logical menu structure as the SDR3X data collectors. The SDR8100 collects data from a wide variety of GPS receivers, digital levels, and Total Stations and provides extensive routines for coordinate geometry and road stakeout. If you want a modern data collector with the legenday quality, reliability and durability of the SDR33 to use with your GPS equipment, the SDR8100 may be perfect for you. In fact, if you use a Sokkia or Topcon Total Station and also use a Sokkia GPS receiver or plan to in the future, you can rest assured that the SDR8100 is the perfect data collector for your equipment. NEW! Version 5.55 now offers better support for bluetooth-enabled devices and logs NMEA data from any GPS receiver.
SDR8100 HARDWARE: The SDR8100 meets the same rugged specifications for environmental sealing and drop damage resistance as the SDR33 and provides more than enough memory and battery power for a full day’s work in the field. Weighing in at only 14-ounces, it is lightweight, yet rugged for easy use in the field, on a rod, or mounted on a tripod. Surveyors who have previously used an SDR33 will appreciate the ability to operate the the data collector entirely with the keyboard as well as one-handed measurement and data collection with ergonomic triggers and one-button operation. The touch-screen display provides easy access to data, commands and graphical views and allows easy reading in any lighting conditions with backlight and multiple levels of contrast control.
COMPATIBILITY: The SDR8100 includes an instrument cable which works with Sokkia and Topcon total stations right out of the box. With the addition of an adaptor cable (not included) the SDR8100 can be used with other total stations from a wide variety of manufacturers. The firmware in the SDR8100 has categories for: Total Station, Level, GPS, and GPS RTK. Within each category, the user can select from the following list of instruments, levels, and GPS receivers in addition to the "Manual" setting in each category for user-definable setup. The SDR8100 should also work well with the equivalent Thales or Ashtech GPS receiver. For example; the Sokkia GSR2300 is a re-badged Ashtech Z-Surveyor.
Sokkia GSR1000, GSR 2200, GSR 2300 GSR 2400, GSR2600, GSR 2650, Radian, Radian IS, Axis3, and "Unknown" logs NMEA data from any GPS receiver (New in Version 5.55).
TOTAL STATIONS, EDM'S, DIGITAL THEODOLITES:
Sokkia: SET, NET2, SET 2-WAY, Motorized SET, SET5A, SDM3E, SDM3ER, SDM3F, SDM3FR, REDmini2
Pentax: PTSII/III, III/V/PCS, PTS-10
Zeiss: Elta 2/3, Elta 46R, Elta RL, Elta 50
Topcon: GTS/ET1/ET2, GTS-3, GTS300 (The adaptor cable for the older-model Topcons without RS-232 Serial communications is no longer available from Sokkia. A third-party solution is available but the cost is prohibitive)
Wild: T1000, T1000+DI, T1600, T1600+DI, T2000, T2000+DI, T1010/1610, T1010/1610+DI, TCA1103, TC/TCM series
Nikon: A-series, D-50 (The SDR8100 will not work with the older-model DTM-1 and DTM-5 total stations due to them not having RS-232 compliant communications. If your Nikon total station has a 5-pin data-out port, it will not work with the SDR8100. If it has a 6-pin data-out port, it should work with the SDR8100 and the required adaptor cable available from Sokkia)
