Perfect cam for raw street surfing /w dickies and dad hats, Great in low light filming, Far more reliable than VX1000 Cons : not as crisp Audio, video. a bit bigger, a bit heavier. Colours are slightly less vivid.( compared to vx1000) Overall, super tight Videocamera would recommend for night filming/ filming in general. This is a very good all around camera. for best results GET MK1 modded or Opteka 58mm with 2 spacer rings,( pretty much the same effect, half the price.)

Owned this camera for 4 years, and have to say, for a standard def camera it is excellent. I have used it for multicamera shoots, wildlife, weddings and even TV broadcast work. Its not HD, HD is great, but unless your going to be outputting it as HD blu ray disks then you dont need it, Lets face it, UK TV is mostly in standard def, most people have dvd players not blu ray players and most importantly most people dont really know the difference! Colour is great, The lens is sharp and the manual controls are impressive... Only gripe for me is no XLR inputs for mics, But you can buy a breakout box areound 200 quid which will solve this, Ive always used a sennhieser MKE 300 mic with it and with excellent results.
I agree with other reviews of this camera,it is the best low-light dv camera made using ccd imaging chips, i will also conclude no standard-def camera (including this one)will upreze to blu-ray successfully with best results, (for that you would be better off with a hi-def camera source) standard-def is best copied to dvd. hope this is of help
I have been using one of these cameras for several years now and has been said, for an SD camera it performs brilliantly in all conditions. I use a remote Rhode directional mic for out door work and have no complaints whatsoever. It is also very impressive in low light conditions and 'sees' more than the naked eye.
