    No more Sinclair joystick misery

    For 30 years I only ever owned the nasty, nasty Sinclair SJS-1 joystick with my Spectrum +2, an experience roughly akin to waggling a cheap plastic stick on top of a ZX81 membrane keyboard; it should come as no surprise that I only ever used keyboard controls. I bought three more of the same model entirely unintentionally as part of a job lot with three more later-model black-case Spectrums, and none of them were any better despite the colour change. On investigating the SJS-2 I found it was a similarly cheap and awful internal design, just restyled outside. But I always wondered if there was an adapter to change the pinout pattern from an Atari standard joystick to fit the Sinclair joystick ports, thus at least allowing me to get a proper joystick that'll work on any of the games with a ...
