Just as good in sound and build quality as my SM58 for less than half the price. I have used Shure SM57's and SM58's for many years. I was looking for a good drum mic and/or a backup mic. For a $20 microphone, it is amazing how close it sounds to my 100 dollar Shure mics. And it is built as good as my Shure microphones. Don't be hesitant to get them because of the price. They are great.
These are great microphones for the price! Sound reproduction is spot on and the on/off switch is a great feature! These will rival other microphones costing much more! built like a tank I would think it will take some serious abuse to damage these!
Just wanted to say the Samson R11 mike isn't a great, but IS a good mike for general purposes. How study is it?. Can't tell. Haven't dropped it on the floor or thrown it at anybody(yet) SO I'll let you know when I do okay? ') I prefer the S11 to it, but the R11, if you don't pay too much used, is a nice, sounding microphone. I use it as my mike for chat rooms (XLR to 1/4 the 1/4 to 1/8) and for Skype too. Personally, I think regular Shure 58's are overated especially for the price. When 58's started to be made outside the US of A, the quality dropped on them. The Samson to me, is a bit clearer/less muddy in the middle BUT that's me. Buy 'em. They work!
A great tight pattern mic. Used them in the past with up close spot monitor...no feedback.
