Excellent player, really has all the features it should have and plays most media without a hitch. Being powered by Android adds the extra feature of being able to use most applications in Google Play, that's a big plus for any device this days. Still, beware of false advertising, this player, even though its stated as being a "8Gb", has much more less space available for user content (to be specific, 2Gb for Apps, and 4,62Gb for media), so don't fall for that. Apart from this detail, highly recommended player, good extrenal speaker, good battery life, would have 5 stars if it were a "true" 8Gb device.
I am having a hard time understanding why this was discontinued. It may not have ended the iPod altogether, but it definitely could have remained a fierce competitor. Sound quality is pretty good, the display quality is good, and this thing still has advantages over the newer iPods, even (try expandable and swappable storage, for starters). I say grab one before you have to buy scratch and dents from individual sellers. They aren't making any more of these. So grab one while you still can, and take care of it. I do have minor complaints, which is why I did not give it a full 5 star rating. I tried installing Pandora, and it kept freezing the device. But I uninstalled and reinstalled and Pandora worked fine. I'm not really sure what caused that...might have just installed improperly, I don't know. All I know is reinstalling the app fixed the issue. Another MINOR issue is that in order to insert an SD card, you have to take off the back cover and remove the battery. I would have preferred the microSD card slot to be on the outside, but whatever, not a big deal. Also, it seems like I have to set the time and date each time I remove the battery. There is a fix to this, however, and it appears to solve the issue. You need to install the time-sync app "Smart Time Sync" and sync the app with the NIST atomic clock server. I used time.nist.gov for this, and it appears to have worked. If you know your way around a smart phone, this shouldn't be very difficult for you. So all in all, I really do like this product. I am surprised that it did not remain in production. Like I said, grab a refurbished one such as this while you still can.Read full review
Getting to the end of its usability, though, since the Android OS is old and can't have upgrades because of memory issues. Mine runs Amazon Kindle, VLC music player and Opera web browser, the only one the player can now handle. It will also handle gmail.

So far, everything works well. Bluetooth is a definite PLUS. Bought a memory card for it so that I have plenty of space for storage. Perfect size to carry around, yet pretty easy to read the screen, and fits into the hot tub/spa device/music waterproof compartment without issue. Pretty easy to figure out. Full user manual available online, which is pretty easy to understand also. I would definitely recommend it. I saw lots of rave reviews on it before I purchased it. I am anti-Apple after purchase of my first Samsung Galaxy. I HATE Itunes. No more computer syncs necessary with Samsung, unless you want to do so, of course. This player was purchased for a close family member. The look of it reminds me of a lot of a cell phone. Seems pretty durable as well. A+++

I got this because my PDA died and I needed a hand-held computer to keep track of my calendar. Pretty simple. My Samsung Galaxy Player is lots more fun than the PDA. Since I don't need a fancy phone, I use this on wifi to check weather, keep track of calendar, and play music. Because this is not supported by Samsung and I couldn't register the product (a legal issue), I only rate it Good. It's been trouble-free so far. The Samsung guy at Best Buy has been very helpful with support for this android novice. I love playing music without having to use ear phones. The photos are acceptable. I continue to seek a calendar app comparable to Palm, but this is a fun unit.
