This is very robust excellent tool that makes light work of compressing springs. It's saved me lots of time and effort. The top and bottom retainers have plastic covers which makes it very unlikely for the spring to slip out. For extra safety there are a couple of chains you can use too. It may cost a bit more than some of the cheaper spring compressor but I think it's worth the extra cost. It's brilliant, highly recommended!

What a great tool and so happy I went to the extra expense to buy this, I maybe use it very rarely but as saved me money and chance of injury, replaces a spring on your strut withing minutes and is the safest method of doing it. Well worth the extra expense then hand tools which are very risky, very safe and even if only use a few times safes money and risk of injury a great tool.
