Beautiful table but extremely heavy and almost impossible to move
The table is very nice once unpacked and assembled. However, we got a bit of a shock when the delivery man wheeled the pallet into the foyer of our block of flats and just left it there, attached to 2 large pallets. He was on his own and had a tremendous effort for him to move the trolley to our foyer entrance. We then discovered why! The table (let alone the 2 pallets to which it was attached) was extremely heavy - probably more than 50kg. No mention is made in the advert of how heavy it is. It would have been completely impossible for a single person to take to the flat let alone move it at all. My husband and I had to slide it along the floor with both of us pushing it hard. We had to dispose of two large heavy pallets(not easy in a London flat). We then had tremendous difficulties ... The table is very nice once unpacked and assembled. The leaves were underneath the table surface wedged by two cross bars with no instructions on how to get the leaves out. We eventually managed to figure out that the table had to be extended (upside down!) so that the leaves could be prised out. We then could not lift the table so had to slide it into the dining room on a carpet. Once we had put the legs on we were hardly able to turn it upright. It was quite scary being left with this enormously heavy piece of furniture and no help whatsoever in delivering it to the flat or assembling it. It would be completely impossible to unpack and assemble if one was alone, elderly or frail.
