Originally bought this album after listening to "Calling all Cars" on Burnout Paradise. Had no idea what to expect, and hadn't really looked at the genre before. Boom. I loved almost every song immediately. Whilst Calling All Cars became on of my favourite songs I have heard others such as "Can't Be Saved" and "The Priest and the Matador" quickly made their mark. Whilst not being the biggest fan of screamy music when done in moderation, and properly, I find it can add to songs, and Buddy Nielsen knows what he is doing. Whilst not perhaps the most complex musically (in some respects) you cannot acuse the songs of being overly simple. The solos are well executed, vocals extremely pleasing, and in general the songs show their many influences and can be listened to numerous times. In recent years I have drifted away from alot of similar bands, but Senses Fail remain one of the most played bands in my collection, and in particular this album.Read full review
