Poor reliability lets down this product.
I first installed this over two years ago. The first false alarm was within a day. The control unit is wall mounted in my house as the wires from the wired sensors from my old system come out at this point. The mains adaptor was fitted behind the unit as this is where the 240v was. I moved the mains adaptor to the gas cupboard and made the entire supply wire 12v to avoid any chance of crosstalk between the mains adaptor and the control unit. I then replaced the mains adaptor with a high quality spike resistant uninterruptible power supply - It still false alarmed. I noticed that all of the 99 zones where switched on by default and sometimes it was those without sensors that were the ones that false alarmed. I painstakingly deactivated all non-used zones. My last step was to replace the passive infrared detectors with the higher quality pet resistant ones. It still false alarms and there's nothing more that I can do about it. Deactivating unused zones was the most effective thing that I tried, but honestly you'll save yourself a lot of grief by buying something else. I have found that the keyfobs last about one year if you use them every day. I use three on different keyrings so have to replace about three every year - The buttons simply stop working. The solar bellbox however is impressive. For two years it has run all summer without being charged and required around three charges per winter.
