I have been successfully using a small low wattage Antex soldering iron for over 25 years on model making but needed a higher wattage iron for some larger and heavier duty jobs, so I looked no further than Antex. This soldering iron has all the qualities that you would expect from a well designed and efficient soldering iron. It heats up quickly and retains its temperature and does everything you would expect and is also very competitively priced. What more would you want? Highly recommended.

this is a really useful soldering iron. gets to temperature fast and the tip is in some way pre-treated and tins without any problems. small enough for a lot of electronics work with enough heat to overcome troublesome connections like LED modules with heat sinks. Only negative is that the supplied "stand" which is rubbish by comparison. I wish there was a better holding device available .

This is by far the best soldering iron I have bought. I have tried many cheaper ones over the years, but this is quality. My previous Antex iron lasted three years and has just burnt out.

My old Remploy UK made soldering iron stopped working after 50 years. I bought another from screwfix but returned it as rubbish. Decided to go for an Antex Brit based iron. It works nice. heat is correct and fairly powerful. supplier was Antex so very happy.

After struggling with a new cheap Chinese soldering iron, I soon gave up and bought this 40w Antex. Almost the same price but massively better. Fantastic value and suddenly, I can solder again. 40w is quite powerful and easily solders 50Amp Anderson connectors and crocodile clips. I'm hoping it lasts 50 years like my first Antex.
