I bought this product for my lectures, for the price i paid for it i must say i am happy with it. It records very well, the sound is audibly enough. Very small which makes it easy to conceal . It is actually a nice product, I ll definitely recommend it. The con though is that there is no way to transfer your recordings to say the computer, no USB connection etc. so if the memory becomes full you either delete or buy a new one The bottom line is it is ding what I needed from it and doing so well
This is a fantastic little recorder,if you are learning a new language as i am this is the perfect tool, there are quite a few free language courses on the net that have audio as well as text you can buy a usb lead (i got mine from the pound shop)which records straight to the recorder with no problems regarding other surrounding noises. It is easy to store different lessons in one of the five folders on the recorder, and each time you finish a recording a lesson etc. it numbers that part, numbers 1 and so on in the folder you have selected, making it easy to number each lesson and folder it is recorded on, thus allowing you to mark on the lessons sheets you print out, and refer back to them accurately with ease I save the printed and numbered lessons in a plastic folder (again from the pound shop)with fixed clear inserts forming a kind of book, with audio you can refer to easily from the folder and numbers you have marked on the printed sheets The 2gb capacity can record a lot of audio messages, also allowing you to record your own voice with the built in microphone (mine sounds awful) but never the less a great little tool, the two AAA batteries (provided) last a long time no problems there, a lot of the options i have not used or needed yet, just remember to set mode to "voice on record" then it only records when you speak or hit Audio option on your lesson etc. as your cannot hear sound when you when you have USB lead connected wait till you see red light flashing "pause"then hit the next message you want to record whilst recording will red light remain on I hope this message helps somebody, as said before a great tool well worth the money (i paid about £20+post on ebay) Maxc London EnglandRead full review
Bought the ICD-BX112 to replace the newer model ICD-BX140... the 140 has more storage and appears very similar to the 112 and it can display date & time of clips simultaneously, unlike the 112. However, the 140 is much slower in operation and for some reason gets through batteries much, much quicker. There may be other improvements in the newer 140 that I’m unaware of but I find the ICD-BX112 a far better device which I use on a daily basis. Five stars for the ICD-BX112 and 3 stars for the ICDBX-140!

I am getting a bit older now and I take a lot of photo and I find that I can't keep track of places and names so I now commit this to my recorder and confirm data when I get home. Spot on. Regards B Hearn.
