This was bought to replace a BDP-S360 that failed. On checking Google it appears they can develop a fault on the motherboard, and, of course, once that occurs you are into the realms of costs more to repair than to replace. The S363 appears identical to the S360, the only visible difference being the remote control. Performance so far is just as it should be, with brilliant images as you would expect from Sony Blu Ray. Only time will tell if this was rushed out quickly, with a built in fix to the motherboard issue.
S363 differs from S360 only in the aspect of remote control, S363's remote is illuminating which is easier to find out in dark! Otherwise, great sound as all time sony items, hi def images, handling action at great confidence and a nice looking outfit. Everything is makes it a great player but the price is not cheap, it could have been cheaper. Spin the Blu-ray of Star Trek and, during the scene where Kirk and Sulu attempt to sabotage the Romulan drill platform, the Sony handles the action with great confidence. The detail levels on the platform are superb, the colours of the actors’ faces just right, the edge definition razor sharp. There’s also great speed and insight to the player’s sound that mimics that of its identical twin i.e. S360.
