Why I bought the Sony MZ-NH1 Personal MiniDisc Player. That was long ago. Nine years ago. My neighbor, a musician from the team of the KVN - "Ural pel'meni-dumplings" (the Club of cheerful and resourceful, - this is the type The Show of Benny Hill, but many of the common people and students) from a business trip brought a mini-disc player. Unusual was the fact, that a mini disc was placed in a plastic protective shell. At that time nobody's if their name is not Sony couldn’t to write music on CD. Home users all the other electronic corporations could only write music on a cassette or reel. This was a breakthrough. Need to tell you, my dear Ebuy’s friend, that vintage things waked in me great interest. My interest to HI-MD was big, when I saw the news that in September 2011, SONY would stop producing HI-MD pleer and decided to try what kind of beast was a HI MD player. However, when получил parcel with HI-MD pleer, their do not have the disk for it - had to "molotok" buy in. Then it turned out that the software that came with pleer is not correctly work on the Windows 7. So I looked in Internet software, worked with 7. Well, now, finally, everything worked and it's very nice. The song from the CD converted in to the library in the notebook for three minutes, and then recorded on a mini-disk for forty seconds. Nice, that I have to go and listen to music not like all the passengers on the cell phone or MP3 player, else metod - by using HI-MD pleer. It's true that my co-workers look on my hobby to collect vintage electronics on laught, but let it be their hemorrhoids, the taste and color, as it is known no companion. And I like to buy something that is not already produce in industry and will soon become a rarity. So I have appeared Sony MZ-NH1 Personal MiniDisc PlayerRead full review
I have been using mini disc players since they were introduced and even now I use them in preference to Ipods and CD players. I have five portable MD players, but in my opinion the 3 Hi-Md players issued in 2004 are, without doubt, head and shoulders above any other -- and I do include the RH1, which is also a great piece of kit but doesn't have the looks of these three. I am referring to the NH1, the NH3D and the EH1 - these are the all metal bodied players, with no sign of any plastic anywhere, and which are absolutely design classics, are far as I'm concerned - from the actual players, with their amazing functionality and sound quality, right through to the charging cradles - which these players look absolutely brilliant sitting in when on my desk - these are hi-fi classics. Alright the L-ion batteries can be a bit hard to replace when needed but there is a mod using $5 dollar alternative one's and which I have used to keep these timeless classics working just as well as they were on the day they were first issued - well ahead of their time. This one is my very favorite MD player and I have had most of the models, It is one of thinnest and I just love the design, Even now in 2018 I am running them (yes I have 3 of these) with windows 8 and 7 64bit. really nice remote. The only con is that sony had a thinking of cornering their customers, they did not made compatible chargers and docking stands for higher end products, most of them had their own designs and it will be a pain down the road. But these models are really nice........as I said my favorite and highest coolness factor from all MD players
